The Blue Buus... is callin us... Driver, where you
Say what you like about us, but I can tell you this; we are going to score a shed full of goals, this season!

Our goal difference is going to be up there with the best.

Dzeko's touch is there, Kolarov is already miles better than last season and SWP upping his game?

Try and stop us!!

Letzbe Avenue!!!!

I hope so! Wait til Kun gets started. Some very nice football today and SWP making an impact again. Can't wait for the season to start. We're gonna destroy some teams this season.

Thing is, it's not even a hopeful notion! It's all there!!

In fact, just to prove a point, I'm quite tempted to put a bet on that we have two strikers in the top 5 in the Prem goal scorers and that we don't lose a single derby, this season!

The way I think things are gonna go this season, I don't think you'll get good odds on that bet mate.

Were going to steam roller some teams this season. Even if Tevez goes we'll still score shed loads of goals.

Also has anyone noticed how much sky have been talking us up today. My personal highlight was the balotelli promo with dizzee rascal bonkers.

Really? I thought Wrighty was shit today! Got very lucky for AJ's goal, did nothing else positive, and gave the ball away too much

I didn't say anything about his play, I said he made an impact on the game i.e an assist for AJ, lucky or not he put the final nail in inters coffin. And to be honest, he's had a very good pre-season and worked hard.

Goals were never really an issue to begin with , but this year I am optimistic about the amount we will score . We have 3 main strikers , excluding Tevez , who can all bang in 20 goals if they wanted , and then you still have all the goals from midfield . It will be an exciting year this year , no doubt about it .

As much as we all luv the wee man Im afraid for me he just does not cut the mustard. I dont reckon he is an impact player either.
So sorry Shauny its the Carling Cup for you this season.

"only this"

Silva and Dzeko's link-up was very positive today, as last season it was non-existent for the most part.

Since the Premier League became 20 teams, thus 38 game seasons, the champions have scored an average of 78.4 goals a season. No team has won the league scoring less than 68 in this time. Last season we scored just 60.

Goals are our number one issue if we want to win the league title! Too many City fans last season WRONGLY kept harping on about "I don't know why everyone thinks we're boring, we've scored loads more than Spurs!" Well, fuck Spurs! They have not been anywhere near challenging for the title. Look to what champions have done not failures in fourth and fifth place!

It's not necessarily about the players we have neither, it's about the way we play. United scored 78 goals last season with players I wouldn't want many of in our team. But they apply themselves to go out and score goals to win games.

Well I don't care what other fans think, the media or any stupid unintelligent pundit jumping on the bandwagon think of the way we play. I thought we were very good value for money last season, and some of the football, especially in the game against Bolton (Home), Fulham (away) and Blackpool in the first half (Home) were some of the best bits of football played by any Premier League team last season. The move to carve open United's defence (Silva miss) in the first 5 minutes of that match was absolutely mesmeric.

I'm sure with the addition of Clichy, Savic, Aguero and a couple more, as well as a team gelling very nicely, we will be involved in some brilliant displays. Can't wait.

If I was allowed to take just one thing from United, it would not be Rooney; it would be the way they fight to the end and salvage points in the last few minutes.

Last season in the Premier League, we ranked 20th - yes, bottom! - in terms of number of goals scored in the last 15 minutes. We scored 5 goals. In contrast, United and Chelsea were joint 1st with 20 goals and Arsenal were 3rd.

This really needs addressing. As I have argued in the 'Eto'o for Tevez' thread, we need a top-class striker to replace Tevez. In particular, we need to go into games able to bring on a top-class striker in the last 15-20 minutes. Who plays that role - and who may or may not come on in a particular match - could, and should, be rotated.

PS: I do know that we are truly blessed in having Aguero, Balotelli and Dzeko and that I am being very greedy. But, as Micah tweeted this morning, the sky is the limit!
