Goals you still Remember

Horlock away at Wrexham on Boxing Day '98. Totally turned the season around.

I think we were barely past being on 20 points at the time and the rag twats were all running with CITY = Conference In Two Years.

It was Wiekens, as it was Boxing Day I'll put your mistake down to alcohol poisoning. ;-)

For me I always remember a Kevin Bond screamer against Leeds I think circa 1982. It was much the same as Danny Mills effort v Everton but from further out.

My all-time favourite though was Paul Walsh's winner v Blackburn. The whole match was a classic but the wait for him to get to the rebound from Summerbees shot seemed like an eternity and when the ball hit the net we went mental lol - Good Times

I remember that Paul Walsh goal, more that i was struggling to breathe after we were all going so mental!!!! Reminds of another great Walsh moment at QPR when he chased the keeper down and he whacked it into him and it went in, we went on to win 2-1 with 9 men. I thought i was going to die that day, was in the top tier at QPR, anyone who has been knows what i mean, so steep and tight, i flew down celebrating that goal and almost went over the barrier.

one i remember was a Dave watson header think against Ipswitch a bullitt of a header never seen anything so powerfull since.

Mick McCarthy header to equalise in the Derby - finished 1-1 - he just seemed to hang in the air then bang!!!

not spectacular but just seems to stick in my mind

That goal was very spectacular - I would say the best ever City headed goal recorded on film. Other candidates would be Watson v Ipswich, Hinchcliffe v Man U (for the move), ... err... can't think of any others - Quinny had a good one versus Liverpool
Yeah that Mick McCarthy one. He headed it harder than Kolorov has ever kicked a ball.
Obvioulsy remember Hinch's against the vermin and stayed late after the game and watched the highlights of it on one of those old huge cameras that ran on the tracks alongside the pitch with the BBC cameraman before they were aired on TV.
Was Quinny's the last minute looping header? That may have been my first trip to Anfield but remember the celebrations more than the game.

Alan Oakes v Athletic Bilbao European Cup Winners Cup. 20/25 yarded. Was sat in line with the dead ball line - saw it nearly burst the net- fab night for a 14 year old - won 3 nil after 3-3 draw in Spain

If I remember correctly, Bond also scored a rocket of a free kick v Everton at Maine Road, but we still lost. Everton's yellow and blue away kit was nice.

Johnnie Crossan's diving header against Huddersfield at Maine Road in 1966. I think that was the second in a 2-0 win. It was the crunch match in the second division around Boxing Day. There were 48,000 in for that match.
