Good Lord! Is This a Good Thing...??

Replace GPs with robots they will open their doors and see people face 2 face 24/7 , also surgery is an area where robots can outperform humans in the near future
Hey Jazzy. It’s already a reality. I had my knees replaced there years ago. My surgeon was being trained on robotic assistance then. He said the robot doesn’t replace the surgeon but takes over on the really fine detail stuff where, for instance, precise cuts are made or the routine like stitching/ stapling.
It is definitely the future. The only question is what speed can it be sensibly introduced and how will society be able to adapt with thousands / millions more without paid work.

People i know views, human nature, everything i have read or watched on the subject suggests the same.

I have read your viewpoints, but I also note you've not addressed the overriding factor that Humans procreate when they have free time.

The population would explode when nobody has anything to do.

Would the countries leaders mandate only to have 1.5 babies or whatever for sustainability?

I wouldn't imagine it would be too much of a difference, humans procreate whether they have free time or not. How we integrate new technologies and new initiatives to deal with that would have much more of an impact on population growth than introducing a UBI imo. The health benefits of people having the money to eat healthier, time to exercise more and to have much less stress , work related or otherwise would be more beneficial to society than the impact of people having more babies with more free time. I am not saying you meant it in that way but it also sounds like "the lazy will just fuck and have babies" stereotype of what the poorest, least advantaged in society are like. As you no doubt know, give people opportunities and they will surprise you.
All of it is moot imo anyway, i don't see how we can carry on much longer without some radical rethink to welfare and the future workforce. Anyone over 45 knows how quickly technology is moving these days. It really does seem exponential now. Flying robots are not science fiction any more.

My biggest hope for the world is automation leads to a UBI and a post scarcity society which will change the human race. People would be far less stressed, eat better. Imagine not having to work or in the short term working 10/15 hr weeks, people would clean the streets. Spend time with the residents of care homes.

You will always get the doom daily mail readers who think that people would just sit on their arse getting pissed but in the vast majority people would educate, exercise, express themselves creatively. In a post scarcity society the accumulation of things would seem less important and the sharing of cars or even homes would be commonplace.

People scoff at the idea of a UBI but it's inevitable, it will 100% have to happen. Some of the biggest companies in the world inc the likes of amazon have allowed employees to cut down their hours and it will eventually cut them down even more. Jobs will disappear. Does anyone really believe haulage won't become automated? what about taxis? Accountancy? order picking?
You only have to see what lockdowns did for many of us when we either weren’t working or just working from home here or there.

I got myself into the best shape I’d been in for 15 years. Instead of waking up in the morning to go to work, I was getting up in the morning to exercise and then cook and go for walks in the afternoon. I had time to watch documentaries all the time, learning new things.

What we have to do is change the monetary system so that we aren’t all put out of a job by the AI but still needing money to pay for everything.

Aye, this is the conundrum.

And what happens when 'profit' chasing is no longer a thing?

Nobody builds these things 'for the benefit of mankind'! There's always someone who 'wants to rule the world' as well!!

LOL!
