Good result for City today....

Will you be hapy if we perform the same in the first 40 minutes and are 1 down?

And don't answer with as long as we score 4 after that bla bla. We cannot play as crap as that and go behind and expect to win many games. We have to be more positive from the start.

About as happy as you would be if we overcommit and concede first. We can all make up imaginary scorelines, there's no reason to suggest that playing the first 40 minutes like we did against Chelsea will result in us going one down.

As to that first 40 minutes I was quite happy with that too. Set us up for a result against the best team in the league at the toughest away ground we'll play at. What did you expect? Run them around the pitch for 90 minutes?

We've just won at Stamford Bridge, we can win anywhere.
Yes if we can win there why not.

If we go in hard against Arsenal we can get points I'm sure..They do not like it one bit and its what we must do.

Step up NDJ.

That's the typical fan who only sees black or white. I was happy with the basic approach to not over commit. It's very sensible but in doing that I would like to think we might also have some of the ball and suggest we know how to attack. Of course I don't expect to "run them around for 90 minutes".Only an idiot would even suggest that. Oh you did well never mind.

In that first 40 minutes we basically didn't get into their penalty area and bit by by bit the writing was on the wall that they would score.Yes if we play like that against most teams I would expect us to be a goal down. We managed to score arguably the most bizarre goal of the season where 3 defenders cocked up but from there we played great.

I still believe if we play the same first half in the remaining away games we will be in trouble.

Supporter of the previous manager by any chance?

Seems to be a common theme running there.

Still if you can't criticise our results I guess you've got to look for other things.

Draw would not be a bad result ,dont get me wrong a win would be fabulous but as we have seen there is no easy away games ,see arsenal v hull .The key games are everton and wigan both at home adraw today and a draw at fulham would not be the end of the world.

No answer so try that approach eh?I am very much a supporter of the current manager
"I was happy with the basic approach to not over commit" Absolutely happy with the cautious approach on tough away games but like the vast majority of City fans I recognised that we were shocking in the first 40 minutes against Chelsea. You are allowed to admit that aren't you?

If I don't think we were shocking in the first 40 minutes why would I say we were?

Chelsea were the better team in the first half, but they'll have plenty of easier halves this season.

Forgive my phraseology.I should have said one is allowed to say we were were shocking. I wasn't meaning you as it's clear that you have the blinkers on and don't see a game for what it was.

The only way Chelsea will have an easier half is if the opposition doesnt turn up.We don't need to over commit v Sunderland but equally we musn't just let them come to us like we did Chelsea.

-- Sun Mar 14, 2010 4:51 pm --

IF we go out with a negative mindset there is every reason it will result in us going 1 down!

Time for Mancini to change that mindset.

if anyone drops any points around us its always an added bonus. we have to win our games starting with sunderland. we really should beat sunderland and if we do we will be in a very good position.

BUT WE CANT BLOODY WIN AGAINST SUNDERLAND FFS
