I wonder what it was about the multi million pound salaried job that involves looking after the interests of millionaire players on million pound deals that made him want to stay on!
I'm unaware of much of the work he may have done behind the scenes, presumably justifying his long texture, but I would say that the position in modern football need someone more vocal, more visible, standing up for young and old players at the forefront.
