We talked about this years ago at the FSF and agreed we wouldn't call for a boycott because we would end up with eggs on our faces.
Fans won't boycott on mass... Season ticket holders who have paid for the game won't give up the game having paid for it. Then in some cases tickets will be snatched up by those that aren't normally able to go.
Imagine how many of the 657 million rags would want to go knowing there are tickets?

Its a shame as the Germans do it and do it well.

When the cheapest season cards are 800 will we still not protest.

I have also committed to reviewing the role of fans in sport governance more widely. I can therefore assure you that I will take your views into account as I continue to monitor this issue."

The 1st few paragraphs are BS and just repeat what I already stated in my email to him. No pledge to take on Tracey Crouch re her views/comments. Prompt response but doesn't really promise anything. I live in Warrington, which has its fair share of City, Rags and blue & red Dippers, so not really enthused that our MP will do much to follow this up.

I'd like Mr Rashid or any other elected representative to explain to me how rail standing was to blame for Hillsborough?? I'm not pointing any fingers here but to use Hillsborough as a reason to not endorse a safe standing section into football stadiums is outdated and also simply wrong. It works on the continent and has done safely for years

I got the exact same response mate its a copy and paste job.
 
What annoys me is they always bring the Hillsborough groups representetives into any argument yet the dipper supporters are some of the worst for standing . Every game the kop spend the whole game standing yet they never campaign for them to sit .

And the Liverpool fan group Spirit of Shankley have voted overwhelmingly to support safe standing

I have just received the EXACT same reply from my MP. This arrived after I rang his office to ask why I had not received a reply from nearly three weeks ago.
Its a copy and paste job and I have let them know what I think of it.

I have also demanded to know whether or not he will be attending the debate if, as said in the final paragraph he believes the Government should give proper consideration to the issue.

I have filled in the survey. Not happy that the only option to tick to support safe standing advocated "less than 10% of the ground".

Why pluck that figure out of thin air ?

That gives us 5000 spaces. That's 10 x 500 blocks.

The full length of the NS lower tier after the redevelopment.

I hint a compromise from the Government and the PL towards safe standing.

It wouldn't surprise me if the clubs have said they will comply with that figure, and be happy with that figure to start of with as a trial.

My useless MPs office still have not replied to indicate whether my MP will be attending.

I guess that's 5000 seats and 6000 after the NS extension. So think that would be 7500 or 9000 standing which I think would be a fair enough compromise.

As stated, it is a start..... these politicians will be shitting themselves that if anything goes wrong they will be blamed for allowing standing back. The fact they are even prepared to talk about it is staggering.
5,000 would do me at the Etihad. For now ;)
