Was on a plane last week and looked out of the window....jet engine,Britsh invention.
Got me thinking,Computor,TV,Internet,franchising,insurance,concorde,hovercraft,harrier jump jet.

I think you'll find the Heinkel HE 178 powered by an engine invented by Von Ohain and built by Heinkel was the first jet engined aircraft.
Even the Italians had a jet in the air before we did.

I know there was a jet race but I'm sure what we see now is the British version of it. So I'd still say ours on that.
And we probably would have been earlier if Whittles superior officer hadn't been a tit.
