Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
Great movie with John Candy and Steve Martin, it's funny throughout but also quite touching here... I've not watched it in years and that'll have to change soon, this scene was meant to be just goodbye but then had an unexpected twist on the heartstrings.
I'm sure I heard Martin say in an interview that in that scene, alone on the train when he's chuckling and thinking, that the director never said 'action' and he didn't realize he was being filmed. Who knows
No havent seen that one, will keep an eye out. Seen Where Eagles Dare of course, an all time favourite, and Guns of Navarone. Thought Ice Station Zebra was dull. Saw a random film a few years ago called Bear Island with Donald Sutherland and a few familiar faces which was fun, not sure if it was a Maclean story but it had his stamp on it.True pal! For decades it seemed to be one of those on regular rotation, along with a few other Alistair Maclean adaptations, but not any more. (Btw, have you seen When Eight Bells Toll with a young Anthony Hopkins, or me of the other adaptations?) fab stuff
Ha, yes, remember all those too. Agree with you on Ice Station Zebra, but Bear Island was deffo one of his; remember reading the book.No havent seen that one, will keep an eye out.
