Great saves

Nial Quinn’s penalty save against derby scored one and saved a penalty same game that must be a one off surely

What I liked even more than that save from Dean Saunders was it obviously gave him the confidence to believe he was a peak Lev Yashin and from the resulting corner came about 12 yards off his line to calming collect the cross. That got nearly as big a cheer as the save.

The Birmingham keeper pulled off an absolute wordlie last night. Think it was a triple save in the end but the first one in particular was amazing. Then to get up and make another save.

Up there. Schmiechel v Liverpool 2003.
James. V Chelsea 2005 from Lampard.

Ederson v palace a few years ago from benteke.
Also a joe hart one from a header at anfield.

Overrated saves.

Seaman v Sheffield United. Harsh but I thought it was vastly overrated.

It was an amazing save by the Birmingham‘ keeper. The second one that is. But fuck me, the Forest Green player will be having flashbacks for the rest of his life, for how he even gave him a sniff of getting near it. Almost from the Ronny Rosenthal school of finishing.

Not thought about it for over four decades but this thread has dragged something out the back of my brain of big Joe against Brighton about 1980? Anybody confirm this or am I getting a senile FOC?

No, but it brings back the memory of one of the weirdest feelings at a game I’ve been to was seeing him trot out playing for Brighton at Maine Road.
