I remember yours from this old radio show over here -- Dr. Demento -- every Sunday night.
This is the late 70s/early 80s. He'd play all sorts of wacky tunes, which is where I heard the Napoleon one along with Barnes and Barnes and many others ("Kinko the Clown" is another I recall).
It's also where I first heard Weird Al Yankovic, playing his accordion in a bathroom at Cal Poly, singing "My Bologna" as a take-off on The Knack song. And he turned that parody into as massive career. Long live nerds!
