Loafing as usual
One fight put me off boxing for many, many years and it was Nigel Benn Vs Gerald McClellan in 1995. At the time, it was the most fantastic fight I'd ever seen, but the outcome was so tragic you will have to find a link to it yourself if you insist on watching it.

But boxers have always held my utmost respect.

My point being that every time they go out there they are risking their lives. What a stark contrast to England's footballers - especially that twat Jamie Carragher - who thinks that playing for England is "too stressful" or below him. Not only England but City, too. Jokey Barton?? Anyone???????

Heh.

But seriously... Skill plus passion and I know City will blow away Chelsea this weekend.

Julian Jackson V Herol Graham

what a shot out cold

Eubank vs Benn around 1993 when the fight finished a draw.

Ali vs Fraizer (the thriller in Manilla) which was a really bitter fight. Ali had accused Fraizer of being a white mans slave.

Hagler v Hearns 1985. Billed as "War", and exceeded the hype.
Could have gone either way and only lasted three rounds.

Benn v McClellend was also outstanding.
Benn was fighting one of the best pound for pound fighters at the time and looked
like he was on his way out, what a comeback.
Would be repeated on TV (as a classic fight) if the outcome was different.

not a fight to compare to the ali, frazier, sugar ray, haglers of this world. but the best fight i've ever seen is michael gomez v alex arthur.

Lloyd Honeyghan VS Don Curry

Welterweight Undisputed champion Curry - Best pound for pound boxer on the planet at the time was demolished by Honeyghan. Cracking fight still remember it to this day. Must have been mid eighties.

The Amazing Alex Arthur and Gomez was a great fight after that fight Arthur dropped the Amazing from his name title. Other great fights Barrera V Morrales , Manny Pacquiao against Barrera and Morrales some top fights between these 3 fighters.

Closer to home Collins V Eubank the first fight. Ricky Hatton against Koysta Tszyu and even Joe Calzaghe against Jeff Lacey everybody thought Joe had no chance how wrong were they. As for the older classics there is loads to mention and the list is endless.

Hagler v Hearns, never seen anything like it since & i don't think i ever will.
Yes,mentions for tyson vs spinks, hatton vs tszu, also barrera and gatti stuff over the years.

A mate of mine was at hagler vs minter ringside ,he told me he looked at hagler walking to the apron and he knew minter was fucked he was that scary.hagler is a boxing legend.

Two spring to mind here,Hagler v Hearns as already mentioned,i've never seen a fight start with such pace and agression. The other was Ali v Frazier on the kings of the world documentary, two big guys just slugging it out,toe to toe,for the entire fight.

wayne Mcullogh against barrera.. Mcullogh took a hell of a beating but wouldn't back down, kept slugging away. Legend of a man. Always was and always will be
