Greatest premier league team

This is the best team of the Premier League era, without question, with a lasting legacy of records that will take some beating! Simple as that.
It’s the best team since Liverpool 1978-79 and in our last three games we could overtake them as the best ever English club league team

We have the potential to have the greatest season on record (and we already have with regards to the many records we've broken), however to be ranked up there with the great teams we need to retain the title next season as a minimum. Champions League (as much as I despise that competition) would seal the deal.

Don't get all this got to do it next season to be considered a great team. What did the invincibles do the season after, nobody says the invincible season doesn't count cause they didn't go on to win the league for several seasons after. This team will not be the same team next season anyway, players will leave and new players will join. This team is having the best premier league season ever and what happens next season won't change that.

Agree to an extent, but as no one else has gone unbeaten since, they are the most memorable champions. If we hit 100 points no matter how much biased pundits try and play down our achievement it speaks for itself... win it again next year and this team has to be considered as one of the greatest in the Premier League era.

Mad to think, the "fantastic" treble winning team wouldn't even finish in the top 3 in the last few seasons!

There was a “league table” produced somewhere that was based on the final table of each premier league season ... the so-called amazing rag team of 98/99 that won the treble were 20th yes number 20 ... so nowhere near the “best” PL team

Ditto.
If somebody ran the 100 metres in 9 secs and never did anything of note again he would still be regarded as the best 100m sprinter no matter what.
If City break all records as they are doing then they must be regarded as the best team the Prem has seen.

We need 99 points to get past them - but thats in a 38 game season not a 42 game season - basically we're well past them already with 3 games to go

Pos Team -------- Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Liverpool ------- 42 30 8 4 -85 16 69 68 -> adjusted for 3pts per win -> 98 points -> adjusted for 42 vs 35 games -> 82 points approx

Yep, spot on analysis but we have to win the league 10 years on the bounce to be considered a great team by some bitter ex players even though the personnel would be completely different from the first to tenth team.
