Just come back from 10 days in Gouvia Corfu and it was the biggest waste of money i have ever squandered, the place was completely shut, one bar open next to the hotel and one small cafe open at the top of the strip, it was a complete disaster, i missed the utd game as the bar wasnt showing it and had to travel out to find a bar open to watch the semi final.
It was also very mixed weather as well, very cold at night, needed 2 blankets on the bed to keep warm and the Greeks were walking about in great big coats day and night.
Talking to the locals they were amazed that Easyjet holidays were sending people to Corfu in April as they said nowhere would be open until the first week of May and that Kavos the raving resort does not even open until at least the 3rd week of May and that much of Greece will be the same.
So anybody thinking of going in the next few days or weeks or even going April next year forget it stick to the Canaries or the Costas for your early break

Thanks Blue Underpants, you have just jogged my memory to endeavour to get a lifestyle that would enable me to have an 'early break', rather than the lifestyle I currently have that only allows for a week somewhere in the UK.

Shitbag.

In fairness, the op could have stuck this in the main forum,as it is a more interesting read than any of the current claptrap on display up there, but the first reply would probably be 'yeah, but these miserable freezing and broke bubble and squeaks - are they outers or inners'?,and it would run to 658 pages, with 153 bannings,76 bummings,38 fistings,6 weddings and a barmitzvah.

Just got back from tenerife last night
So thought i'd rub it in and say seven clear blue days, red hot & watched the game with a load of blues in a local bar :)
Would stick to the canaries this time of year though mate.

If its any consolation just had a cracking week on the Costa Blanca. Just one cloudy day the rest were sunny n 24/25c.

Sorry just had to rub it in
