Greece v England - Thu 14th Nov '24 | UEFA Nations League

I don't think that's right mate as long as England win any win will do, don't think goal difference counts just the head to head against greece the only side could finish level if we win. Could be wrong though often am :-)
I'm the one with the dumb brain.

You've got it right.

Correct. After tonight's head to head out record is superior. Greece won 3-2 at Wembley, we beat them 3-0 tonight. So if we both win on Sunday, irrespective of the scores, England get promoted.

The trolls are out on the BBC, apparently Foden underperforms and Walker is well past it. Foden was one of the few who put in the effort in the Euros, Walker played well tonight. I was impressed with Lewis but the ITV commentators hardly gave him a mention
The apparently isn't neccesary, Foden has without question massively underperformed for England. If he wasn't a blue we'd all be saying the same.

Genuine question: What benefit is it to be in the top Nations League division?
In recent years England have pissed qualifying for Euros and World Cups, so why does this tournament matter? - UEFA said it would mean internationals were competitive rather than friendlies with unlimited substitutions etc, but it's just more games for top players in an already crowded season.

The only beneficiaries will be the money men - who'd have thought it? To me they are just pointless friendlies designed solely to get more money from docile, easily-led punters.

To me, football is all about Man City, nothing else. Fuck the suits in the boardroom, now fuck the Bellend hero-worship, and fuck all our players coming back with injuries picked up from these utterly pointless tournaments.

I didn't watch the game, didn't have any interest and didn't want to talk to anyone about it this morning. Which is how I shall be at the next England game.

I would imagine it could affect seedings in comps? Plus if you're in the top group you are playing better opposition which is helpful for development.
It's a hard sell though tbh.

It’s also a chance to experiment and see new players and others given a chance - Rico Lewis, Curtis Jones, Madueke, Bellingham, Watkins - all excellent last night and great to see the young players we have work so well. Massive stepping stone for the major tournaments.

It’s just a shame they’ll likely read so much negativity and hatred after every match.
