Guaranteed Xmas delivery

What's really depressing is my birthday is in early October and these buy now for delivery by Christmas ad's normally start appearing around then. How long does it take to build a sodding sofa?

Fair comment must be a Uk type advert. They start this imaginary panic game in October and the adverts get more desperate as the time rolls on and most furniture ads now do it so it sort of loses its unique selling point in a way, they even interviewed cloth images of people with real voices to say things like “ I work in the factory that makes the sofa and I am looking forward to making people’s xmas ...

All these sofa and furniture adverts guaranteeing Xmas delivery, what a load of bullshine overstating the importance of having it by 1 day that is far too commercialised now.
I find it offensive that these marketing people think that’s a reason to buy now,not in January when some things are heavily discounted.
What on earth do you find offensive about it? Do you expect DFS to run adverts in November saying, "don't bother buying a sofa in time for Christmas, wait till January when we will be selling them cheaper"?

People in retail have families and lives too, commercialisation has lead to massively increased flogging of retail workers in the 'run up' to xmas (i.e from october). No one desperately needs same-day deliveries from tesco, that toy you order from amazon can come in a week, if you're leaving things late enough to require next/same day delivery then that's your own fault.

Too much time on your hands if that offends you. Just don’t buy one.
