Mancini took over a team that finished 10th the previous season. Within two two and a half seasons he had put to bed the trophyless drought and then won the league. No small achievement despite the financial backing. Now I am fully aware that Guardiola is a more respected coach than either of his predecessors but all his achievements were elsewhere with two giants of world football.

He might yet do the double in his first season and in my view Wednesday's defeat makes that more not less likely. Let's hope so. But if we end up trophyless this season the pressure will mount. The competition does seem to be getting domestically stronger. And that is why the last 5 years remain a disappointment. With United and Chelsea temporarily in decline, Spurs yet to get going and Arsenal being well Arsenal it was an opportunity to dominate the PL. We didn't take it.

If he doesn't believe VK is going to remain fit, then he would see him as a liability within the squad. He's been a great leader for us. If he does leave, I bet he becomes phenomenal again.
 
So Pep the surgeon has removed City's spine ie Hart,Vinny,YAYA. and Aguero will be gone in the summer, that's one hell of a rebuilding job
 
Just like he fell out with yaya, had he never made up with him (forcefully) we'd be in the shitters probably 5th or 6th.... He ain't understanding the impact it has on our team just having VK on that pitch, he gives the whole team extra confidence.
 
if we are getting rid of kompany and up to 17 others, its going to be very difficult to win things for a few years. i worry about
- lack of leadership, with hart, zaba and Kompany going
- the spine of our team gone
- the time it will take for a new team to gel together.

Its not disrespectful at all. he's the manager, its up to him who's in the side. Kompanys been injured pretty much for two years now, maybe thats a reason he wants a replacement.
