Guts before glory

Maybe. The MoN bit is bollocks though. He got off to a good start in his first season had a mid season dip then finished strongly so to say that we would have been on his case with his first season is nonsense. The mid season dip was balanced by the good start (unbeaten until the end of October if I recall) and the end of season finish left the Villa fans in an optimistic mood...perhaps a bit of colouring the facts to fit an agenda.

Besides if Scolari can get a kicking after a poor run over 5 games and having bought 1 player and an injury list as long as your arm I think Hughes can take one as well. These people are paid to f**king manage after all.

Damn I feel a rant coming on...

A bullshit plant at the behest of the manager in a bid to dampen expectation.

It goes something like this...'Er, Chris, do this story and we'll let you know who we are really signing before the nationals, so you can have your little moment of glory.'

Bailey is becoming a propoganda sheet for Hughes. Every couple of weeks we seem to get these types of articles which are thinly disguised apologies for the manager and his approach. I'm don't blame him because he's on a tightrope, he relies on City for a story every day and I know Keegan fell out with him and refused to let anyone talk to him so he was really struggling for a bit.

I agree with some aspects of the article but certainly not others. Bellamy will not offer us "backbone" and nor will Toure. Toure is an older version of Micah: a short centre back with poor positioning but able to get away with it due to his pace (which is now waning). Ask Arsenal fans and they wouldn't be bothered if he left as long as they have cover.

There's a difference between "backbone" which is what Kompany gives us, and "violence" which is what Bellamy would give us.
