Get your heart beating faster, and your muscles moving and you will lose weight just fine. As long as you get your diet in order! None of the effort you put in with the exercise will work if you don't eat properly.
You've started now which a lot of people find the hardest step, just keep at it and you will see results.
Completely agree with this piece of advice. Exercise and diet go hand in hand. It's about lifestyle choice and beyond 40 you need to think more seriously about the level of exercise you take and what you eat, drink and smoke.
Just getting into routine that includes exercise every day (doesn't have to be the gym) and being more disciplined (e.g. no beer during the week) will have long term benefits.
Totally agree with these two posts, it's not a sprint Strongbow, it's a marathon and needs to be part of your life for good, simple as, it's why, when I'm asked 'what is the best exercise for fatloss and fitness' I always reply ' the one you enjoy the most as it's the one you are most likely to get out there and do most often'.
If that's an hours walk in the woods with the dog/kids/Mrs etc for an hour or so that's fine, as opposed to doing a fancy routine that you'll do for a month or two and give up.
