Ham and pineapple

Anyone who gets pineapple on a pizza should get 30 lashes and 3 days in the stocks for every piece of pineapple. In the interests of humanitarianism the lashes should be applied in 30 lash sets at the end of every 3 days.
When they die they should be burnt at the stake and buried at a crossroads, weighed down by a graveyard stone. An unmarked stone also, as their name should be forgotten.
It’s humanitarian shit like this that makes it execrable.

Is Gammon and pineapple allowed? Not on a pizza just one to through in the debate,no foods I don’t like but …. Beetroot I don’t get pickled soil.

I hate it on a pizza - Mrs loves it. PMSL when in Tenerife she ordered an Hawaiian pizza and instead of pineapple it had banana on it lol. Interestingly it entered the Icelandinc political discourse a few years ago

President of Iceland announces that he would ban pineapple as a pizza topping. The president of Iceland, Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, threw a political bombshell into one of the national conversation today when he took sides in one of the more contentious debates of our times: The "pineapple as a pizza topping" debate.16 Feb 2017
I've had petrified shark and guilmote in Iceland. Not sure he has his food anger priorities correct.

Pointless pizza topping. That is what chopped or sliced meat is for
That how I feel. Ham and pineapple is ok, but there are a good number of choices well before that. If all that’s left is ham and pineapple I’m still eating it but I’d rather have plain cheese. TBH ham is the least interesting conventional pizza meat. Sausage, pepperoni — much, much better.

The pairing of salty pork with sweet fruit has existed since the 2nd century AD for the very simple reason that it's delicious as fuck.

Prosciutto and melon, figs and parma ham, Orange glazed ham, caramelised onions and hotdogs, gammon and pineapple....

And irn bru square sausage.

Love all of the above. Not pineapple (possibly melon too, not tried) on pizza though for whatever reason.

Pineapple and pork as a combination supposedly goes right back to the 15th century Spanish explorers and the initial colonisation of South America, when they brought pigs/pork with them to new parts of the world. Only to discover that the meat couldnt handle the temperatures, and a way to stop it going off was to use the acidity of the pineapple to extend its use days.

Putting it on a pizza is attributed to a Canadian in 1962, and remains one of the most unpopular combinations according to various surveys. something like over 80% of those that don't like it on pizza, claim they like the fruit.

And 80% of those just say they don’t like it because they think it makes them sound cool.

I feel passionately about this haha. Save the pineapple

Do you not need to be in the minority to sound cool?

I like a pineapple fritter, me. Wonder if anyone has wrapped it in ham before deep-frying it before?

Fast forward 20 years when on a forum thread somewhere someone is attributing the creation of a divisive chippy regular offering to BM.
