Happily eating my words re Lescott

I slated Lescott about a month ago as for me his performances weren't that of a £24 million player and his mistakes were becoming costly. To be honest I would have been happy if he had been dropped but fair play to Hughes he has made me eat my words as his game has come together and he now looks immense.

His best game in a City shirt yesterday. Looked very good.

This ^^^^^

I heard some Chelsea fans moaning about Drogba on the way back. I thought Lescott bossed him - he is one of the best forwards in the world and for most of the game Lescott had him in his pocket.

Can't argue with NDJ getting man of the match, but there were a host of players - Shay, Lescott, Tevez, Robi, Sweep - who were all excellent and only a whisker behind

Think he's been steadily getting better week by week, maybe since the England Brazil game where I thought he was one of our better players. The lads got it all really and it's starting to show. I too am eating my words slightly.

Not many football players sign for a club and settle in Immediately.I thik it's even more difficult for someone joining a club and playing alongside another new signing. It takes time to form and understanding, especially with defenders.I hope the same kind of patience see's it's rewards for Santa Cruz.I still think he'll be a good signing for City.If we can get on a run that takes us into the top four and we are playing well, then confidence will spread through the squad and people given a chance will want to play well.

My mate said before the game yesterday what did we sell Dunne for (same guy slagged him off for 10 years) Lescott is awful what a waste of 24m I just said yeah yeah after the match I said what was that about Lescott before mate he just pulled his face really winds me up he never gives anyone a chance and his words were straight back down his throat yesterday NICE ONE BIG JOE :)

Seems to be a lot of that with City fans, more than enough of it on here as well.

i was another who slated him saying he wasnt worth 24 quid let alonw 24 mill, but he does seem to be settling in now and not making stupid mistakes, hopefully for us and for him he will become a rock in our defense and cement a place in the world cup squad,i apologize joleen

He's been top drawer for several games night, gaining in confidence all the time. He just looked completely assured yesterday, full of confidence. Interesting to make the comparison with Terry, who was pissed on quite a few times.

Well done, There is a light. Pity a few more can't follow your example.

I've seen a lot of Lescott since he moved from Wolves and my resident BlueDipper scout has kept me well informed. Had Joleoninho stayed at Goodison (he was already close to many hearts) he would have become one of their legends.

Didn't surprise me one bit that Moyes wanted to hang on for grim death. He saw week in week out what we are just beginning to see now.

Yesterday's performance made Terry, Carvalho et al look a little pedestrian.
