Bacteria to the Future.
Bacteria to the Future.
I saw him walking down the street once. "Hey, aren't you "Swales Out"?" I asked. "Yes", he replied.
True story.
Hey! leave Frank alone, he's cool ;)His syrup was fuckin' terrible mate. I think Frank Sidebottom was modelled from Swales.
Spot the difference.

Tonight on Turner Classic Horror Movies - 'The Toupee from Beyond the Grave'His syrup would have dig and itself out of the grave on it own accord !
All we had then was that we were liked by fans in other clubs in way we are not now and being Blue singled you out as real. But how much is that worth, because we were also seen as harmless failures and those same fans of other clubs now see us as gatecrashers with no past. It will take many years for the wider world to understand the truth - that we are and always were a great club who had a 25 year dark period - and in large part that’s Swales fault. So give me being hated and a light show any day of the week. I was a child who chose to be Blue thirty years ago, I think I’ve earned a light show. How could you hate City?
Not impossible as both lived in Altrincham. His syrup was fuckin' terrible mate. I think Frank Sidebottom was modelled from Swales.
Spot the difference.

Theyve gone out of fashion? …. Fucks sakeCuban heels would have never gone out of fashion if Swales will still alive.
Or could it be that the bloke who succeeded him simply couldn't rescue a sinking ship?Terrible chairman. He was in charge when we had our three lowest finishing positions. Oh wait a minute.........
Swales was well out of his depth, but unfortunately so was his successor.
I would say barry bennell wins that worst thing award by a distanceHorrible arrogant **** of a man, the worst thing to happen to City, ever
nah, the ship was listing for years, but could be saved with the right man, swales actually never capsized it, that came from the next regiem.Or could it be that the bloke who succeeded him simply couldn't rescue a sinking ship?
A worse human being by miles yes, but biggest damage to the club was PJSI would say barry bennell wins that worst thing award by a distance
I was taught never to speak ill of the dead. Peter Swales tests that rule regularly, along with others much worse.Horrible arrogant **** of a man, the worst thing to happen to City, ever
Maybe. I never really remember the timeline but it is what it is as Pep would sayWay too generous for me. He proved he wasn't a blue when he tried to hang on to the club when a genuine buyer came up. Even though he'd fcked the club over.
I think both were caught on the hop by football finance changing with the advent of the pl and sky money. Swales was very much in the 50's-70's mould of a chairman being a local Rotarian done good. Frannys bog roll money was just not enough to compete by the time he took control - also swales had left him a mess.Or could it be that the bloke who succeeded him simply couldn't rescue a sinking ship?
Franny remains a hero as a player but he was out of his depth as a chairman and appointed his mate rather than a half-decent manager.Or could it be that the bloke who succeeded him simply couldn't rescue a sinking ship?
