Because it’s a Christian Bank Holiday. I remember many years ago, my Dad playing hell because shops and other businesses began to whittle away at Bank Holidays, his take on it was that ‘men fought like hell’ for these special days.

Happy Easter, Bluemooners. I'm just back from celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, with fellow believers.

I think I'll celebrate beating arsenal 3-0 cos that didn't happen either.

There are all sorts of different traditions out there.

Some churches do a dawn service with bacon butties and champagne and others stick to their normal routines, but with a celebratory white and gold mass.

Chocolate doesn’t tend to be in the thinking though as it has no real religious connection.
