And that's it for another year except for Sundays debacle, but I wont be starting any Risen threads as they have the propensity for danger leading to exile from our Moons surface. I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter time even during the isolation.

So stay safe everyone and listen in to the governments advice bulletins, enjoy your exercise periods and do stay away from joggers. Whatever your belief system.. tomorrows another day.

Happy Ēostre!

Just like Christmas, Easter has nothing to do with Jesus or Christianity. Just like all those pre-Christian resurrection stories also have nothing to do with gods or goddesses... they’re all just stories that personify the Sun and Summer.

The early Summer resurrection or rebirth story is about the Sun moving past the Vernal Equinox (Easter is usually on the Sunday after the first Full Moon after the VE) after it had died at the Winter Solstice and spent the Winter months in a weak or hibernated or dead state.

The word Easter itself is actually related to the Sun or the sunrise or where the sun rises - the East. From our word Easter/East, going back to old English’s word Ēostre, the old High German word Ostara, the proto-Germanic word Austrǭ, and even going back 6,000 years to the proto-Indo-European word Hausōs, these words all mean and meant “to shine” or “the dawn”.

Easter marks the start of Summer. The Sun is resurrected after Winter and is getting stronger by the day, trees are in blossom, flowers are blooming, animals are being born in the wild. Our Easter eggs represent that birth, rebirth and fertility.
