Seems like someone at the club is thinking long term and maybe about life after Pep.

Even if we eventually get Kane it's good that these discussions are happening about maximising the next 2 years vs setting us up for 7 or 8 years with a striker.

Dusan is an Inferior forward to Kane. €80m for unknown is more of a risk than 130m-150m for an establish top goal scorer.

Yeah, same. Sounds like that to me too. I would argue that for a club record transfer to get done, you're probably gonna need everyone pulling in the same way, so this may be a blow for the Kane hopes, but maybe im wrong.

I would like to add that this person isn't a bullshitter btw. I've asked them many times if they knew about Kane while chatting about Grealish and they said they honestly hadn't heard anything either way. They got in touch with me for the first time when they heard sumat, coincidentally as they were passing on their congrats ahead of my wedding day lol.

It's been obvious for years that Pep is the driver behind the Kane deal, don't really need to be in the know to know that! I suppose the club are looking at the money spent and wondering whether the extra money is worth it to try and get Pep for a few more years when this contract begins to run out.
