Harry Kane

What we should remember from history is that no matter how good things seem, if you don’t change or you don’t improve then the season after winning the title can be much much harder.
If you don’t move forward then you move back.

To be fair, we’ve needed a centre forward all season which makes this year even more phenomenal

Also another option, Haaland has a release fee next year. Is there a chance we buy Kane, then sell him and buy Haaland next season?

Just another option to explore.

I personally think Kane would be great for us, as would Haaland.

Very true. However I mentioned resale value in respect to the expected price someone would have to pay to get Kane.

We've never approached a world record fee for a player, but there's a suspicion that if the right player came along, we'd make an exception. Who knows, that could be Kane. If so, I totally agree he'd go the same way as our other legends when their time with us is over.

On another note, I read an article highlighting the shift in European power, whereby the days of City buying a legend at the end of their career is over, but now Barca are doing it by going for Aguero on a free, as we did for Weah, Vieira etc. How times have changed hey?

It’s surreal isn’t it? We’re at the tippity top of football right now and it’s fucking great. We’re a drawer for every top player in the world over most clubs. Imagine that years ago.

I'm sure Harry would love that.

Unless the players themselves ask for it, I can say with confidence that City won't be using any significant players in part exchange for this.

We'd get 4-5 years out of Kane.

Kane is absolutely proven in this league.

I'd say he'd get 30+ a season in our team.

4-5 years is "long term" enough imo.

Don’t forget that according to this forum, Kane is injured all of the time.

The fact he can get 23 goals and 13 assists, whilst missing half of the season is astonishing.

Think of what he could achieve when fully fit.

When they say he's always injured what they actually mean is they dont like his face and voice.

We rarely go outside our ‘norm’ in the market of young players but when we do, it’s to address a need in the team.

Walker rings a bell, we needed him and everything else didn’t matter. We went and got him.

Despite what we’ve done this season, it’s pretty evident we need a finisher. Who better?

I’ve never been a huge Harry Kane fan for a number of what I think are valid reasons.

The time spent out on loan at various clubs without staking a claim at Spurs, where he only got his break due to injuries to others.

The feeling that he’d be happy winning the golden boot each season and that individual awards rank just as highly for him than team gongs.

Seems content being a big fish in a smaller pond hence signing the long contract he’s in currently. He should have been pushing for this move 2 years ago.

However, we only know a fraction what goes on behind the scenes and don’t know the lad at all.

Choice between Haaland and Kane?

Haaland is a great talent at 20 and has a great return in the German league. I’m less fixated on his champions league tally as some of this has been served up against the usual group stage cannon fodder.

Kane is proven in the premier league and puts away the chances we have been missing for fun this season. He’s also shown capable of dropping deeper and being a provider, which suits Pep.
The air of selfishness about him
I can put down to some of the dross he’s played with. He seems happy to release the ball to Son but less so to the likes of Vinicius/ Soldado/ Lo Celso etc. Maybe he’s not a bad judge!

And for me, I hate hear strikers tell me that there’s more to their game than scoring goals. That usually means they don’t score enough of them. Kane = goals.
In our set up, Kane playing regularly will get close to 40 a season. Our current top scorer in the PL is Gundogan on 12.

He’ll cost £90-100m and guarantees us the league and more for at least the next 3 years.

We want be paying what levy would want so 64m plus Jesus with Jesus not being on high wages spurs can afford the package for the lad! Sterling going nowhere he will sign a new contract and his form will come back like all top class players…
