Harry Kane

A thought occurred this morning:

In 2012, Utd signed a certain 29 year old Golden Boot winner from a London club. He had a worse injury record than Kane. He went to a squad that was nowhere near as good or as deep as City's currently is. They beat us to the title by 11 points and netted 20 more league goals along the way.
Most would agree that he was the catalyst for them.

Gets you thinking what Kane at 28 could do for City.

he would genuinely get over 30 league goals a season imo.

Probably not a lot more than what we are currently doing, but he will definitely help us adapt our game in different ways.

Nice argument
Why would you want me to make an argument on a subject that is personal preference?
You'd think I was advocating us signing Andy Carroll ahead of Kane and not two of the most sought after strikers on the planet.

I seem to remember in the early seventies when City bought players we used to ask are they a City player ?..it was a question about skill and a love of the club..different times I know..but I feel Pep has followed this strategy following on from Silva Kompany Zaba Aguero with guys like Dias..players who will play until they are in their 30s and retire having bled Blue..am sorry but do not see Kane in this mould..Haaland probably would.

I think with myself there's a part of me who doesn't want to sign Kane the player who has the piss taken out of him for the stupid way he talks, and the gormless look on his face. I'm 50, and that's my immaturity still kicking in! Then there's the excitement of beating the top Euro clubs to a player like Haaland, something we haven't done yet. Not the elite players anyway. That is a coup. I don't regard signing Kane as a coup as you are only beating United or Chelsea to his signature, and fuck them anyway.

Funnily enough I just heard a Paddy Power ad on Talksport. A bunch of journo's are questioning him. One asks if he's going to Sapin, to which he mumbles something about not speaking Spanish, then another asks if he's joining one of the Manchester club, to which he makes one of the stupid noises I said above, then the last one asks if he's staying at Spurs, to which all the other journo's start pissing themselves. Funny.

Respectfully disagree with it not being more than what we're doing. Having a Kane/Halland leading the line while adding all of the danger, movement, passing, finishing and drawing focus that they can is the one clear thing that we have been missing.

His average PL season is 31 Games, 23 Goals, 4 Assists in that Spurs side.
Think you are missing the point..the injuries he has had are serious..it is the future not the past that counts..another Roque Santa Cruz in the making..great for Blackburn who then played 20 games for City

Do you not think Kane is more attainable than the other two?

Oh I was referring to the point gap mostly haha, staying above them and winning the league etc. I agree there's a clear need for a proper 9 in certain games, but I do believe our team is so mature and adaptable that they usually find a way to manage.

Signs for City, booed at the Euros.
At least we'll discover what he buys his Mom.

Mail online headline: "£500,000-a-week England flop Kane shows off blinging house he bought for his mum - complete with jewel-encrusted bathroom - hours after flying home in disgrace from Euro 2020"
(Or maybe not? He is white after all)

Think Haaland particularly with his family connection to the club is what we will go for if he is available.

Don't get me wrong Kane if he can stay fit will make our side more competitive especially in those games we tend to drop like Leeds at home etc but we don't want another Kun as he has been in the past two seasons , we want the Kun of 2012-2019.

I think Torres can make the grade as a striker at the top of the elite level in England , its a question of whether Gab can take the next step.

I've no idea. At some of the fees I've seen mentioned I'd be surprised if we were willing to pay so much.
To be clear, because it seems you're not grasping that I'd be more than happy to see him sign.
My first choice is Haaland, he is the player who seems obtainable wherever its this summer or next. The noises being made around him point to the fact he'd be more than happy to join us and we would get many years out of him.
Mbappe is a pipe dream who I don't ever see joining us, which is a shame because I think ability wise he's the best of the three.
If City did come to a deal with Spurs and Kane rocked up at the Etihad, I'd be made up because he's a class player who will score goals for fun.
