We should buy Maguire and loan him back. They get a good run at top 4 or 6. We get another year from Fernandinho and a protection from the ban.

65m. Thanks.

I’m confused which thread I’m in.........

The FIFA case however looks very much like Chelsea and city, probably others too checked the legitimacy of what they were doing with the FA, the FA said yeah that’s fine - and FIFA said no way Jose.

Interpretation of rule. I recon the Chelsea ban won’t be repeated for us as the scale of our infringement is far less

If we checked with the F.A and they said yep your good to go, then the question is if we are banned what are the F.A going to do about it ?

Manimanc your probably right ! But it's a valid question, if you can't rely on your countries Football Association to understand what they are validating what hope have you ? If Chelsea have the ban upheld and we get one, there has to be some action from the FA to make things right, or at least face some form of punishment themselves in what ever shape or form that would be .

Am sure Uefa have punished our fa

I fully expect us to get a transfer ban (note the fifa one, for the alleged youth transfer creativeness/carelessness, rather than a uefa ffp one, two sepatate investigations). lots of big clubs have been given the same punishments, a two window ban, and i dont think the 'scale' of the 'offense' has any bearing on what appears to be a fairly standard response. We've been given domestic bans from signing youth players from any of our leagues already, so i struggle to believe how/if the club didnt know what they were doing or misinterpreted the rules. if it happens, im sure they'l find ways to deal with it, like all others do.

With or without a ban (sounds like a poor U2 cover), is Maguire the right player for us, long term? for me, i wouldn't say so. certainly not at the price thrown about (even the lower end of the rumoured spectrum). But thats just my own opinion.

I think this relates (in part at least) to The Right to Dream signings and in particular George Davies & Dominic Oduro which would make the alleged offences committed back in 2011 and 2012?

Of course it might have nothing to do with them at all as I don't think FIFA have ever stated what the investigation is in relation to.

I'm seeing some right shite being written about Stones on here lately. You do know that Stones statistically won more balls in the air per game than both Kompany and Laporte last season right? On top of being a far better passer. He makes a couple of fuck ups for England and suddenly we need to spend £90 million on Maguire to replace him? Before his injury and all the shit that was going on in his personal life he was rock solid for us.

They are most probably the same posters who wrote so much shite about Bernado, because he didn't
score a hat trick on debut.
