Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

yes. And then it broke almost immediately. British Gas cover to the rescue - a £350 part replaced and all is well - got my entire years premium back in one shot!

went on for two days then it was too warm in the house so its been off again and no sign of any need to stick it back on yet

still on summer duvet and was on the beach in shorts and t-shirt today enjoying the sun too but a bit nippy when it clouded over lol!

Nope, just acquired an electric blanket tho.

I read they cost less than 1p per night, will only go on for 20 mins to warm the bed.

The heating can stay off until its below 4 degrees at least.

The Mrs had it on when I got in from work the other day - I said it's not cold enough, to which she snapped "I'M cold"

"Stick a fucking jumper on, it's going off!" was my reply.

Not been back on since

Why can people not afford their bills? Be responsible, healthy & warm!!

I don't understand this "Eat or Heat" issue really. I understand it is an issue for some but surely that is the governments fault & not the energy companies?!

Blame the government eh? ;-)

Tbh, most people would be healthier if they ate a bit less, regardless of how much the heating was on.
Ours starting to kick in for first time the last few days

Still the boiler sat idle. Staunch. Who's with me?

Regarding energy bills, i read the other day they've crept up over 50% in the last 5 years. Wages haven't, obviously. Importantly, nor have pensions. 1 in 5 homes in this country is now in fuel poverty, the highest in the western world. Scandalous.
