Has anyone put their central heating on yet?

Ours is pretty much on all year. Wife and kids were all born in a tropical country and even find our Summers a bit cool. Thermostat kicks the heating on if the temp drops below 25.

I can't complain too much though as I had the air con on permanently when I lived there.

Cracked today and it's on but I've made the kids use there halogen heaters in there rooms lol
Tell them all about when us oldies were young and there were power cuts every 5 mins and we had no heating or light and had to wear our coats indoors sat around some candles, then tell them to put their coats on in their bedrooms lol

Ooh yeah outside loo i'd forgotten them and getting coal from your coal bunker
It's amazing to remember when life was basic and also amazing that when the kids of today get to 60 they will be looking back and thinking their life as a kid was basic the same as every generation says back in my day..the world moves on at a cracking pace

We used to have to get food on tick and pay at the end of the week, no mc'donalds then

Wimpy was the only one couldn't afford that by the way.

Aren't they just paying 2 lots of bills as they still have to pay all their bills at home as well?

No heating and cooking ect....

Its costing me nearly £40 a week to heat a fairly small flat, throw in petrol the cost of food and the amount the mrs will spend in bloody Costa and such places.

Even taking flights £9.99 ....rent of 12 euro a night taken into account I am approx £20 a week better off. Plus have half a chance of the other half not going down hill and ending up in hospital which usually happens when its really cold and dark.

I am going for 10 days in November and 14 in December and if its looking like a particularly shite winter I will take her back in January and bloody stop there until it buck up a bit. All in the knowledge that it will have cost me slightly less than if I had stopped here stuck inside for months on end.
