Has the BBC become a Tory tool?

I am allowed an alternative opinion. For the record I don't agree with what Sunack and Braverman are doing policy wise, but I think Lineker should not have made that comparison. I also don't particularly like the man or the team, Ian Wright aside, that do MOTD so it's no loss for me. But accept that's a complete aside.
Of course you are allowed an alternative opinion. Just lucky you don’t work for the BBC as then you’re seemingly only allowed a right wing opinion that suits the government’s agenda.

My dad has always said just show the games with crowd noise or at least have the option. You don’t have commentary at the match so why have it on the TV? Plus pundits are usually full of shit getting paid great money for chatting about football. We all chat about football and get paid fuck all for it!

You think invoking 1930s Germany is balanced? Seriously?
True I mean the US of the 1920s especially Albert Johnson or the Australian labour party and other advocates of the White Only Act in the 20s/30s could equally have been used as an example

but then all 3 used language similar to sunak and braveman so all 3 are valid examples.

I haven't actually seen any quote from lineker calling them mass murders or claiming they are outright nazis who want to murder people in their million, only that the language is dangerously similar, whch in truth it is.

Of course you are, I can't see anyone saying otherwise. But when you claim that your local pub don't support him (did you do a survey?) just after being ejected at closing time then you're going to come across as a bit of an idiot.

Proper, old skool commentary is essential imho, and is/will be the biggest miss.

The likes of Coleman based their commentary on calling out the name of the player who was in possession of the ball, very handy for those who don’t have a 120” 8K UHD screen to watch the games on. I wish modern commentaries would stick largely to this, instead of “adding colour” and/or giving opinions.

1. He likened the language and rhetoric from tory government in recent weeks to that of 1930’s Germany. Which is true

2. It’s from his own personal Twitter account. Not broadcast by the BBC

The comparison was a poor one imo. Regardless of his or your or anyones dislike of this government, their language isn't the same as the hate and bile spewed by the nazi government. Comparing the too surely leads to belittling the evil that occurred in 1930s Germany. I do have an issue with that.

Its all too easy to throw insults and make comparisons like this these days and i think those that do don't fully understand what occurred back then. It trivialises an awful nadir in European history.

Here’s a question, taking the BBC out of the equation and taking it solely on the tweet, does anybody have an issue with what Lineker actually said?

Of course not, it was just interesting that on social media their is seemingly near hysteria as on here, yet you mention it in everyday life and no one seems to care that much. The reaction overwhelmingly is well its Gary Lineker, he's a bit of a berk so no great loss. Perhaps he should have stuck to the job rules? It was just an observation nothing more.

How about the lady who said exactly the same as Lineker, direct to Braverman. She went through that period and stated that the rhetoric was that of 1930’s Germany. Are you saying that she didn’t fully understand what occurred back then?
