Has the Capital 1 Cup Final become the pivotal game of the season?

The pivotal games will be in the Prem; first against the rags as a win should open up a sufficient gap to seal top four, then against Arsenal in the final home game which might give us top three thus avoiding the qualifying round. And if we get get our arses in gear a little earlier the Arsenal game could have even more riding on it.
But I'll be delighted to return from Wembley having witnessed a City victory.

yes it's a cup final and a boost to the fans and club to get another pot in a season, and with us playing the scousers 3 days after a good win is a psycological advantage going to anfield. Also depending on what happens in Kiev we need to put this run of defeats to bed before it becomes a habbit 3 in a row is bad enough 4-5 would be worrying

Exactly it's about kick starting the season at a key time. Of course top 4 and league position and doing well in the Champions League is important. I just think winning the cup would bring much needed confidence to the players and fans.

league is more important, but winning the League Cup might be key.

I think we'll get a result in Kiev

Need to get some momentum going as it seems we've stopped in the water at the moment, two defeats at home by title rivals and much younger hungrier teams. Then yesterday Pellegrini throws the kids to the wolves and gets them roughed up with zero tactics and game plan how to get a result.

We have to hope a decent showing in the champs league and a full house at Wembley will re-ignite the fires of the players wanting to win.

We live in football times where every games takes on a pivotal dimension. The last two home games were pivotal. If you bugger up the 'pivot' it makes the next games even more pivotal!! Would have been an interesting game next Sunday, and more pivotal had we been playing CFC and not The Dippers.

I really don't get this 'it's not important for the club' lark. Of course it is! It's another trophy to put in the cabinet. It's a parade at the end of the season. Pictures, memories and most importantly (for the club) marketability!

For us fans we recognised it as the last trophy we'd won for 35 years! This is THE most important game of our season so far by a country mile!
