Have we improved since last season?
In the league?
Last season we finished in 9th place with 55 points, we need 17 from 21 available to get to that tally this season. No chance.
In the FA Cup?
Last season we were beaten by Sheffield United in the 4th round thanks to a balloon, this season we were beaten by Nottingham Forest who are on the verge of relegation to League One 3-0 on our own patch.
In the League Cup?
Last season we got to the quarter finals, this season we got beat by Brighton and Hove Albion in the first round who are on the verge of relegation to League Two.
So on them three points we have gone backwards alot in one season. People seem to cling onto the Uefa Cup when in truth we haven't really been tested by any decent sides so far bar a fantastic result in Schalke. The first real test in coming up with Hamburg.
Last season alot of credit was taken away from Sven, citing his 1-0 wins at home against the likes of Derby, Villa, Utd, Birmingham were all lucky, but no one has hardly said that our wins this season at home to Wigan, Middlesborough and Sunderland were lucky when we really were fortunate to come away with 3 points instead of 1 or maybe none.
The players this season are ALOT better than last seasons. So why the major backwards step?
I've said all along that i thought Mark Hughes wasn't good enough but was willing to give him time and to prove me wrong but he is not doing that at the moment. I am not saying this on the back on todays result because it was expected in truth, but i am looking at the bigger picture after 31 league games.
Serious question but are those who think Hughes is the man beleiving it because they really believe he is the man to lead the club to some success or are you saying it because you are sick of this club getting rid of manager after manager and you crave that stability?
I will probably get replies of "fuck off, go support another club", "another boo boy" but i am neither a Hughes lover or a Hughes hater, i just want City to be successfull and i don't care who gives it us, if Hughes is the man then great but i cannot see it but hope i am wrong as it will mean we have been successful and that is all i want.
