Its Guinness time any day of the week.
Yes I know that its a bit morbid, but at my time of life (74), I`ve already made my funeral plans with my wife and likewise so has she.Mine will be a non religious funeral and these are the 5 songs that I have chosen for the "Life of Oakie".

1) Hazel O`Connor = Will You. The saxophone is my favourite musical instrument so this song and especially the ending is absolutely wonderful.
2) Marvin Gaye = Pride and Joy. My all time favourite male artist and I had to have some up tempo music.
3) David Bowie = Heroes I could have chosen anything from Bowie but this is my favourite.
4) Primal Scream = Country Girl Just love this band and another up tempo number.
5) Leona Lewis = Run. From the first time I ever saw her on X-Factor I have been a massive fan.

Seems strange that I could have picked Oasis, Rod Stewart, Rolling Stones, ELO and more Tamla Songs but these are my five.
Irrespective of how your funeral takes place either a Christian or non Christian one what would/will be your songs ?

Shame to not have at least one novelty classic in there - a bit of black lace or the Wurzels etc

I will need to think about it. None of my friends nor family would tolerate five songs though. Two maybe, three max.

I've always thought "Your Silent Face" by New Order would be one, in part due to the last line "You caught me at a bad time / So why don't you piss off."

And Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here."

Solitude Black Sabbath
Cirrus Minor Pink Floyd
Seasons In the Sun Terry Jacks
Everyone's a Bit of a **** Sometimes Steve Coogan
Straight To Hell the Clash

Ooh.
Interesting thread. I thought I was alone in knowing my funeral music!

If I get one (a funeral) and anyone turns up (not guaranteed huh) then I'm not going to dictate the proceedings in my spiritual absence until the end of the service with one caveat: Anyone wanting Angels by RW has to get in the coffin with me.

At the end of the service, I want this played.

A beautiful track and the perfect exit music.

I’ve got one so far,

Another one bites the dust.
My dad was a huge Queen fan and when we carried him into the crematorium he requested Who Wants To Live Forever. The outgoing song was Another One Bites The Dust.

Only me and my brother knew that was the song and when it came on everyone pissed themselves laughing. It was definitely the reaction he wanted!
