Really sad news that John Hays, the founder of Hays travel, has died
I've heard him interviewed along with his wife on numerous occasions and have to say what absolute top drawer people they seemed to be

That’s sad. I remember hearing them on the radio and they sounded like top people.

Nice folk well respected in the community - ex-mackems deputy chairman I believe - saved a lot of jobs when Thomas Cook collapsed - people like the Hays and the Timpson family show that you can be successful in business and care about your staff - RIP John Hays.

Pretty grim to go to work and collapse and die. The futility of life.
Did a lot for the industry I work in, and by most accounts Hays are a decent company to work for.

I only say most and decent because there are quite a few disgruntled ex-staff from this year who have been pretty vocal about their perceived treatment, but they do regularly get voted in the top 100 companies to work for.

A good guy and a loss to travel.
