Help a Blue celebrate her 106th birthday..

Just think about this, she has lived through:
  • End of World War I
  • Spanish Flu
  • Representation of the People Act
  • Irish War of Independence
  • General Strike
  • Great Depression
  • Abdication of King Edward VIII
  • World War II
  • Suez Crisis
  • Devaluation of the Pound
  • UK Joining the European Economic Community (later the EU)
  • Winter of Discontent
  • Thatcher Era
  • The Troubles
  • Good Friday Agreement
  • Diana’s Death
  • 9/11 and the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan
  • Brexit
  • COVID Pandemic
  • Johnson, May, Truss, and Sunak
  • Queen Elizabeth’s Death
  • Cost of Living Crisis
  • Far-right Riots
Oh, and on the positive side, City winning everything that can be won!

And these are just the major events I could think of off the top of my head.

She deserves an incredible amount of respect and I hope the club have something planned for her.

Happy early birthday, Mary! I hope lads hammer the rags for you!

She has lived through:
City’s first Div 1 title.
The saving of the rags from bankruptcy and expulsion from the league.
84,569.
The Trautmann cup final.
The arrival of Joe Mercer
The arrival of King Colin.
Winning the cup, the title, the Cup winners cup, the League Cup all within about five minutes.
Losing to Fenerbahce while scaring Europe to death.
The disgraceful demise under Swales.
The famous five trashing the rags.
More managers than hot dinners.
A lot of own goals by the Dunneymonster, equalling his hero Dave Ewing.
The rags relegation.
The move to the Etihad.
The return to greatness under Bobby Manc and Pelegríni.
The Sick Swan.
The wonderful Goat and the last Maine Road derby.
The arrival of Pep and the trophy or two that followed.
The Centurions.
The Fourmidables.
Four in a row.
Winning the Champions League.
David Silva, Erling Haaland, Sergio Aguero, KdB.
City’s non-existent history.
Happy Birthday, Mary.

I surely have. I hope that Mary presents us with our 5 in a row trophy.

I’m off to buy a birthday card for her first thing in the morning. :-) :-)
What a lady.
