this might be the wrong sections. But anyway I haven been a city fan since around 08 and it has always been a dream to come there and watch a game. However living in the USA it's not that easy to just get up and spend 2-3k for a match. Well my wife for our anniversary is sending me across the pond to watch a match of my choice!! So I need you guys to recommend me one to watch. I just want to watch city play in person so I don't care about the opponent that much but I do want a good atmosphere and I would like it not to be that cold lol.. Anyway if you could give me some suggestions on which matches to watch and what time of the year to come!

Well you're pissing in the wind if you want a game which isn't cold. The obvious choice would be the derby, or one of Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool but could prove difficult to get tickets. Other than that, you can always guarantee a great game and atmosphere against Tottenham. So I'd go for that one.

Also if you can, I'd pick a 17:30 kick off. Always a better atmosphere as people have had time for a few pints and also looks better watching the game under the floodlights!

Whichever one you choose , I hope you enjoy!

Any time frame at all, or do you have the whole season to go at?

Whatever you decide, take care with Kick Off times and dates. Games can get re-arranged over a weekend for TV.

I'd go for a game that would likely be an open game of football and not a team who you will expect to park the bus.

Might also be worth avoiding the weekends before and after champions league games as the players like Aguero, Silva etc who you'd want to see might get rested.

I can choose the whole season. I'm kinda leaning on nov 21st against Liverpool if I can find tickets and get everything squared away before then. My brother in law lives in Germany and he could possibly join me. I would like to do the whole stadium tour and get the whole experience!

Might be an idea to see about getting one of the hospitality deals such as Legends Lounge or something like that. You could then very possibly meet some old City legends walking around; e.g. Summerbee, Book etc. Not a whole lot extra money-wise.

Have fun anyway. Manchester is a fun town whatever match you go to.
