Help needed - Saw us at Edgeley park ( neutral venue ) but who did we play ?

I remember going to a testimonial at edgerley park in mid-80s which doubled as a pre-season friendly (Arthur Albiston?). Might be totally wrong as I’m not sure why we’d play United at Stockports ground. Any ideas or is it early onset dementia?

Chester is the one team I have seen City play away on three grounds.
I was at a pre season friendly in 1985 at Sealand Road, the League Cup game as mentioned in this thread and at the Deva Stadium in the FA Cup in 2000.

City have played Brighton at three stadiums during my time of watching them - Goldstone Ground, Withdean Stadium and Amex but I have been in the US since playing at the latter two (they also played at Gillingham's ground too but City didn't play them there)

I went to a couple of testimonials at Stockport, mid to late 80's. One of them was for Tommy Sword in August 1988.
Albiston's testimonial was at the swamp and the scene of the infamous youtube clip of the fighting on Chester Road

Well funnily enough, Albiston played for Chester in this game. He was renditioned with a couple of choruses of “You’re not famous anymore”

Albiston’s was at OT. I got in the players lounge afterwards (via a pub landlord where some Utd players drank) and when we went out we signed autographs for some thick rag kids ;)

Just found the 2nd leg -

Wow, blast from the past that thanks for posting. I remember the Brennan 'long ranger'. Possibly one of the games that helped make me furious when we signed Coton to replace Dibble, but turned out ok. Didn't realise / forgot Dibble was a lefty though, unless my eyes are giving up too on that video!

Was only a kid so don't remmeber too well all of the Allen vs Reid spat, other than my dad was adamant Allen should be playing every game. The other thing I remember from that time was him going mad at Megson signing and swearing under his breath every time he was named in the starting line up.
