Help needed - Saw us at Edgeley park ( neutral venue ) but who did we play ?

I can answer that cos I was there, in fact weirdly enough I thought of this the other day. And the answer is, Chester in the league cup, it was Chester’s home game. October 8th 1991.

I thought around that time Chester used Macclesfield's ground?

I think they did, but Macc were non-league at the time and I don't think Moss Rose was considered suitable.

Heres one… i have, what i thought was a memory, of watching city playing at edgeley park, i didnt think it was v county but maybe it was.
Im sure danny hoekmann scored and we chanted OOH DANNY HOEKMANN!

I was also there and I started this thread as I couldn't remember who we played! So I am afraid you will need help from Blues with far better memories than me!

You saw hoekmann score? From outside the area? Ive checked his wiki and he got one goal for city. I have a book somewhere that has every city game in it. I need to dig it out

To be honest I can't remember him let alone his goal or who it was against! But I was at the Chester game at Edgeley park.
