help please cannot get on the computer

Last night my grandson turned the computer off without shutting it down
this morning I switched it on and all I get is I little blue circle on the screen can anyone help me please

That little blue circle could be the computer taking a long time to load. You should try to leave it on for a while with that circle spinning and see if it comes back on.
