Right. I want to connect my pc to my tv. My tv is a HD ready digital LCD Tv. I have alread bought a VGA to hdmi and discovered that doesn't work because the Analogue to digital doesn't get converted. If i used a vga to dvi-d converter then a dvi-d to hdmi cable would this work. Ive tried researching it but i get so many different answers its unbelievable. If this would not work do you know something that would?

Thanks. Dadnlad

What connections do you have on the back of your tv and grahpics card ?.

You used to be able to do it via a TV card in the back of your PC, now you can get wireless bits and pieces that stream content from your PC to your telly box. I'm after one but the nerds in PC World haven't got a clue how it even works... I walked out confused! (They wanted to flog me a 30m ethernet cable to go with it...derrr...it's WIRELESS you spazoids!)

On the telly i've got:- HDMI, DVD VIDEO OUT jack, Scart, TV Antenna Port and the yellow red and white wire ports

On the side theres also a ' COMMON INTERFERANCE SLOT' but not a clue what thats for

One of the main reasons for getting the tv was to get it for the pc as well but bought the wrong one without the pc port on it.

I guess the only thing you can do is plug the VGA cable from your PC to your VGA input on your telly, if you have one. Watch for screen burn though.

Thats my problem though it aint got a vga port on it because i bought it thinking it had but it hadn't. Thats why i was wondering how i could connect it any other way.

Best thing to do mate is buy a new graphics card with HDMI-OUT. I have one of these: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...R2+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=37477
Just pop your old one out, (it may not even have one, it may be an on-the-motherboard job) and slot this one in. Then just buy a standard HDMI to HDMI cable: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Peri...able,+Version+1.4,++5+meters+?productId=38738

By going down this route, you will be able to watch HD films on your TV and it also ports the sound through the HDMI cable, so it comes through your TV speakers. If it sounds like too big a job, PM me and I will try to help.

For just £30 all-in, it's the perfect solution and you won't be disappointed.

Dadnlad sorry about not replying i forgot all about this thread, do what ManCityFC suggests as its exactly what i was going to suggest.

Can you get screen burn on LCD? I thought it was only Plasma's.

I use HDMI to connect my Laptop to my TV.

What Challenger said, just buy a cheap graphics card that you can fit into your PC that has HDMI. Make sure you get the right interface of card for what is available in your computer (e.g. PCI/PCI-E/AGP).

Hey,

I used: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.pc-tv-connect.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.pc-tv-connect.co.uk/</a>

Worked for me, I use a wired connection (sometimes use TVersity with my PS3) :)
