Highly critical article about Citys' owners

What the fuck he is doing ?

That Conn must be the worst City fan in the world, he should just fuck off and support Stockport/Bury/Oldham or something, he has never been happy since we have started being successful, wonder why ?

It’s an utterly bizarre article. He starts off as a United fan wanking off over City’s football then, albeit briefly, goes on to criticise the UAE and the conditions migrant workers face, then he veers off in a completely different direction to talk about Brexit and UK politics.
That's why I stopped reading. I skipped to the end & skimmed over a couple of paragraphs which mentioned Brexit & just assumed some loony had forgotten to take his medication...

I assume you live in the UK. Are you aware of the British Government's past & that of the Royal family for that matter?

Do these sit OK with you, or are you considering leaving the UK anytime soon? Show me one ruling family or a country with an elected parliament who haven't got to their positions of power without spilling barrels of blood in the process.

The British governments past AND present doesn’t sit okay with me, no. Neither does the royal family. Leaving a country is an extreme response, many factors go into where you live; job, family, health etc. You can still call a spade a spade though.

After we trashed the rags these type of press keep popping up frequently. It started with “ sheikh’s expensive yacht and two wives “ than city’s oil money etc etc and yesterday the new one “ who pays city’s bill”
They will try to undermine the best football we are witnessing in front our eyes every week .

So you hate all royalty & politicians globally? Well that's cool then... :-)

I think it's totally legit. There's no doubt that many of these regimes are absolutely foul.

Privately, I am glad my club is benefiting from the investment.
Would I prefer it if the owners weren't associated with human rights abuses - yes.
Is it possible for a club to be responsibly and well run and for the owners to be associated with pretty unpleasant values - yes.
There is a big grey area around the morality of politics and sports. Not every article pointing this out is a criticism of our club.
It's not a contradiction to be complimentary about the running of our club AND critical of the values of our owners.

Quite right and it's not as bad an article as it appears at first glance. I think he's making the point (among other points) that the UAE may not have a free press but, in a different way, neither do we. I've answered him at length on Twitter so it will be interesting to see if he responds and, if so, how.
