We have in theory top spot to fight for and Hoffenheim have the Europa League but will that motivate players and fans? I hope this game will have a competitive edge to it but fear it may not.

Nevertheless I love watching City at the moment. I am hoping to see a proper European support this time. I don't know what to expect from Hoffenheim as they are not a traditional German club. Shakhtar inevitably brought very few supporters whilst Lyon's support was very poor. By the way I watched the brief highlights of their game against Hoffenheim and I noticed their stadium was nowhere near full. City fans at the time remarked how good the atmosphere was in their ground, but obviously that was their Cup Final that night.

My team would be:

-------------------------Muric---------------------
Danilo----Kompany---Otamendi--Delph
------------------Gundogan
----------Foden-------------Zinchenko
------Bernardo------Jesus------Diaz

I know that's got a lot of inexperience but I want to see players who are hungry and have something to prove.

If we get beat, we get beat but at least some players get rest and it will be a challenge.

Ederson
Danilo Kompany Otamendi Zinchenko
Delph Gundogan Foden
Mahrez Jesus Sane

Bench would be Muric Stones Walker Gomes Bernardo Sterling Diaz (Gives Laporte/Silva/Fernandinho the night off)

Just can't see Lyon winning away at Shakhtar, think that team is more than good enough to win this game, ideally be able to bring off players who could play on Saturday (Delph, Sane, Mahrez) if comfortable

Don't trust Swedish referees.
