Better than Fernandinho in the 2014 title run-in by virtue of being picked. Very different role though stepping back into the middle of the 2 centre backs allowing others to go forwards and intercept the ball.Wouldnt go as far as “well” ;)
Might have more to do with injuries, Stones has missed many himself, and when he's been available we've had a scarcity of CB's.I can't understand why in pervious seasons we've played Stones there, yet this season we seem to be completely against putting anyone there. Perhaps highlighting the absolute need to the owners to enter the dreaded Transfer Market in January.
