kevin doyle managed to do what our multi million pound strike force couldn't, and thats hold the ball and bring people into the game.

tevez to my mind is the only one who does it for us, and boy does it show when he doesn't play.

our strikers surrendered possession to cheaply to easily and to often, we need a player in doyles mould who would provide cover for carlos.
 
Hang on, I've read a few threads on what we need from an attacking player:

Hold the ball up in possession.
Has pace to get past defenders.
Bring people into the game.
Look arsed when the game isn't going our way.
Able to grab a few goals.

We loaned a player out who can do exactly that, without replacing his on the field contribution.
