Has anyone got any good ideas for a good holiday that would suit a 40yr old couple for 10 days,Cant be anything ,mad expensive as the budget wont run to it.

I came back from Zante last year and went up to the highlands of Scotland for a few days.Beautiful scenery, nice and quiet, and a fair few things to do along the way.Not too expensive either.

If you're looking for something 'out in the country', I've been here a few times...

look at the 'Lodges for hire' section

Italy.

Stay away from where the commoners go, Lake Garda, Stresa, Laveno etc.

Rome is fantastic, Milan is gorgeous, Verona is stunning and Lake Maggiore (if you keep off the beaten track) is probably one of the best places I've ever been to (you can easily pop over to Switzerland as well).

Incredibly romantic.

Sharm El Sheikh seems very popular now.Only ever been to Cairo, and that is an experience i shall never forget!

I went to Dahab last year. It's about an hour or so north of Sharm, and it's beautiful. I've heard lots of people say that Sharm is way too touristy nowadays, and that they'd prefer a more "real Egypt" next time. I'd recommend Dhab any day. So much in fact, that i've just booked up to go back there for 10 days or so in October. Then we're gonna head back down towards Sharm, and stay somewhere about 15 mins away for another week... somewhere very quiet i'm led to believe.
