Seen a couple of threads but none cover what I'm after so here we go...

After being targeted about 8 times in 2 years for theft in various forms at home, I need something better than a ring doorbell.

I want a camera system that can record 24/7 and also does alerts. Is there such a system? Anyone have one?

Have a look at blink, doesn't record 24/7 but activates on a trigger, saves clips to the cloud and is battery operated and wifi so no wiring.

Sits between a doorbell cam and a traditional system

If you want 24/7 recording then I think you're into commercial territory and hard wired install rather than wifi

i have a Zosi system lower end of the market, on laptop and phone app, ebay is best bet and install yourself, hardrive is extra but they do deals with it included, easy install and set up

I got a camera off amazon last year. Wansview cloud, good clear picture with two way sound. I have it set up on motion sensor and stores everything onto a sd card. I think if u wanted 24hr recording you'd need to join to there cloud which u pay monthly. All in all I paid £30 camera £20 sd card and £5 for a long USB-c wire.

Works off my phone and tablet plus can be rotated remotely as well.

Sorry can't help with CCTV but I'd probably look at moving if I'd been robbed that many times in 2 years.

I've got a ring floodlight camera and it's great. Had a few cheap versions but this is sound . About £180 to buy and £100 to fit . It's far better than the doorbell stuff . You can talk to people it also gives warnings and if your away you can check any alerts if you download the app and pay a small monthly fee. If you want serious hardwired stuff it's gonna be over a grand .

I’ve got a Eufy doorbell and camera, all record on a hard drive in the house, it’s doesn’t record constantly but picks up people

I got CCTV via spicy support about 3 years ago and it seems to do what you want. The police have commented in the past on how clear the images are at night due to it recording in colour at night.

To enable them to record in colour at night they have a small light built into them which also acts as a deterrent as it shows to people walking past that they are on and working.

The only problem is, they are all clued up and cover their faces so police can’t identify them. I have captured people breaking into my neighbours a few times but as it isn’t on my land it won’t alert me otherwise I would constantly get notifications so it is pretty frustrating from that point of view but is useful to know the time things happen, how many people etc.

The night vision isn’t great at capturing vehicle registrations when they apply their brake lights so that is another frustration.
