Homegrown options

If I'd have known he was HG, then he'd have been my first choice midfielder. I

Everton have just got Cleverley, so will hopefully be reasonable with the fee.

What sort of fee do you think Everton would ask for?

I really rate McCarthy, but I fear Everton's £50 million estimation for Barkley may have put us off dealing with them.

I've liked the look of that James Ward-Prowse when I've seen him play. Problem is Southampton probably wouldn't sell and he'd probably refuse the move given his age and likeliness of starting only a handful of games.

I'm a big Ward-Prowse fan in the event that we're out of the KdB chase, but I can't see both coming. Either ticks the set-piece delivery box though, which would come in handy if we want to try scoring on one.

I don't know the background of it, but Premier League website classes him as "HG"
Well he isn't.He can't be. In Jockland till he was 18. Waist of a Foreign Player spot for us.
As Spurs are after him, I suspect our name has been mentioned to push the price up.

Perhaps if you read his thread you would be better informed about his HG status

I did. And thought he moved from Accies to Wigan at the age of 19.
Having rechecked it appears I can't add up as moved to Wigan the season he was 18 and then to Wigan the season he was 22.
So yes he is homegrown for Premier League rules and an "Association Player" for Champions League Rules

I'm still underwhelmed. Still beggars can't be choosers and we have to get the quota filled.
