Hooliganism and Violence Maine Road 80's/early 90's

There was a time when Liverpool were at our ground, one of the city lads went round the corner to where the scousers were waiting to cross kippax car park. In his best scouse he shouted ‘come on there’s some city round here’
They ran round, there were hundreds of us ‘funny as fuck‘ when they realised
Even funnier, him out of The Scaffold came round moments later, Paul McCartneys brother

Millwall are what they are. Walking to the ground that day when their escort was arriving. To be honest that was the biggest mob of lads I have ever seen at Maine Road, GMP did a good job keeping the lid on things that day despite the outbreaks of violence. Could of been a lot worse. Not many teams fetch 4 thousand 3,999 being hooligans.
It was an impressive sight that firm that day. But yeah it was a mixed southern firm. The fixture down their was also fun. Bad buy scored for us in injury time to equalize, we went crazy, they went ballistic

As piece on the Millwall match

We were hitching it to London think it was Chelsea early 70s, got a lift off a Tate and Lyle driver, stopped at a service station while he went for a piss, a couple of Liverpool c*nts threatened us with a knife so we didn't have much choice but to get out and let the scouse scum have it

It was very much a mixed firm that day and fucking bedlam.

Burnley at home around the same time was also fucking mental as i remember being ran for what seemed like an hour after the game and at one point, nearly getting fucking filled in by our own lads and had to dive over some poor fuckers wall into their front garden to get away lol.

Not City (or Maine Road), but remember this happening. A young kid died after the match when a wall collapsed IIRC.

Remember speaking to a Blue who went to St Andrews to watch City (mid 80's I think) and he said the Zulu's poured into the away end attacking anyone in sight.

They were all proper boys as well. We went to the ticket office after the match, Burnley away I think, had to take a big detour as not allowed round the back of the north stand, and were there when the police escorted them down Claremont Road and onto Lloyd Street. More accurately I think the Milwall fans were escorting the police. I don’t care what anyone says, they were the hardest looking mob I ever saw at Maine Road. I saw bigger mobs but never as big a %; I’d say out of 2500 about 4 weren’t handy looking
I remember the twatting they got on wilmslow rd fuck me that’s one of the best city firms I’ve ever seen
