Im pretty new to the horse racing betting, put a few quid on football every week, what is this one where you have to put money on the outcome of 6 races?? Tri-bet or something?

Sorry for being so vague, any help or details much welcome

Think you mean the Scoop 6?

It could be a placepot aswell. A decent bet to do pick a horse in the first 6 races of that meeting. Scoop 6 is too hard to do over here but did it at the weekend and couldn't pick my nose.

Try a internet account. I use stan james. On saturday I picked 6 horses from the same races as the scoop 6. had a 25p each way accumulator (total cost 50p) I opted to take the odds at the time of betting.

If all six won, I would have won over £66 thousand, if a mixture of placed and won, about £130.

3 points..............

1. All six win - pay the mortgage off and get pissed.
2. All placed - get pissed and buy a curry
3. Lose - get pissed and only lose 50p

Keeps me interested in the racing whilst not blowing the housekeeping!

I find Placepots a bit more exciting, but even then i dont do a lot of them.

Prefer lucky 15's and Canadians but its hard to get them over the net! infact i havent seen anywhere where i can do one so anyone who does nknow, be much appreciated!

On another note, i went into a bookies over here in bucharest to try it out, they dont have the English racing which sucks a bit, but they do have cartoon racing all day, walked out a happy man when my second 16-1 came in!!

You can do multiple bets on Ladbrokes.com. Just pick 4 selections then it will give you the options of backing them as singles, permutations of doubles and trebles, an accumulator or a lucky 15.

I used to run a betting shop. We used to take hundreds of Lucky15's and Lucky 63's a week. I can count on one hand the number of times somebody got the lot up.

Multiple bets are the bookies favourites because they promise so much but rarely deliver. But for an interest on a Saturday afternoon they are okay. The people in my shop who made money out of gambling only backed win singles.

I'll go along with that. I used to do a round robin for the fun of it, picking only from the televised races. I got my money back about 7 out of 10 times and a double every few weeks, usually enough to pay for my beer at the weekend. It was mainly for a bit of fun when I finished work on a saturday morning. Picking doubles can be quite profitable if you know what your doing.

Thanks for all the feedback, getting the MEN in a minute so I can start looking early at the runners for tomorrow

Any other tips?
Bet on the jockey, not the horse.

worst fucking tip ever.. are you a bookie in disguise..

bet on the horse.. the best jockey in the world won't get a nag over the line in front and the worst jockey would win on a good thing..

LOL:O) To a beginner its easier to bet on an in-form jockey....lets face it, the results can be the same whichever way you do it.
