How are you getting to Barcelona ?

Tickets were like gold dust last year. I had a couple of mates who went over without tickets and pretty sure they got some in the barca end off one of the stalls on las ramblas. People were getting locals and random foreigners to get their tickets for them IIRC

So as someone with no points, although I've had 2 season tickets within the last 10 years I have no chance of buying a ticket for this?

I'd say you haven't officially from City. But where there's a will there's a way, especially if you don't mind sitting in the barca end.

I think I'd prefer to sit there anyway to be honest: no bother and a better view and facilities.
If there are some who will want to sit in the barca end, when they get released I will try and get a group booking( depends on numbers, also not to big a number.)whatever the ticket is,that is all you will pay.

I'd look into this if I wasn't confident about getting a ticket in the City end. Mac did transfers from girona airport last year and the service was excellent whilst also beating the price of the ryanair ones

Someone asking about Lloret De Mar earlier....

In March me and my flatmate did 2 nights in Barca and 2 in LDM. LDM was ok but with it being out of season there wasn't much going on, and a lot of places just didn't open. Reasonable weather but cool at night. Return coach was about 20e iirc and takes around an hour e/w. If there are a few of you going then it would be a good laugh, and we did see a few other Blues kicking about.

If people are still looking for cheap ways to get to Spain, try looking for flights into Girona airport, which services the Costa region with good links to Barcelona. Think Ryanair use that airport, surprise surprise.

Giving it a swerve this time. Couldn't even get a ticket for the game in March this year, so don't really fancy all the expense again to just watch it in a pub on Las Ramblas! March is a bad time for me as well, it's shaping up to be a very expensive month already.

Fingers crossed we sneak through and get a good draw as yet to do a Euro away this season.

Cheers FTG, it was me asking.
5 day break with room and board for 250 is a no brainer really. If there's a bar and the sea then i'll make do.

Good stuff, can't go wrong at that price! Couple of football pubs as you head towards the seafront, so a good spot to watch whatever is the Tuesday night game. It was close to being beach weather when we were there so if you're lucky you should see some decent sunshine.

Can get either a coach or train to Barca, but the train means you have to go to Caella (sp?) first, whereas if you opt for a coach then it leaves from the centre of LDM. Looks like Mac is running transport as well.

i think you'll be alright with that many points

What do you think will be the minimum points you need to get a ticket?

You'll need to be on the champions league scheme. I agree that demand will be down a bit this time as it isn't a 'new' trip. I guessed earlier at 6k. I might be miles out because a lot of people without the right points get their mates to get them for them.

So as I'm not on the scheme I don't have a hope even with 9,400?

If that's the case and you cant sit get a ticket in the home end with a UK passport I suppose ill have to take the wife it will be the first time her Mexican passport will have ever come in useful!

07.50 Manchester-Charleroi 10.15. Mad dash taxi to Brussels international for the 13.20 to arrive in Barcelona for 15.20.

How far is the stadium from the City centre? Walk? Taxi?
metro?

Taxi will no doubt be about 50e - You can get the shuttle bus outside of the Terminal to Brussles midi (30 mins) then the train drict in to Brussels International

Me and a mate flying from Stansted on Tuesday, arriving late on, and returning Thursday morning. Also got a hotel called Oriente Atiram booked for two nights which is in the middle of Las Ramblas. All in, including travel to Stansted, parking and airport transfers at Barca, is roughly 135 each.

This is a real budget job though so not expecting the accommodation to be great (won't be there anyway) and the drive down to Stansted will be pretty shit.

Five days in Caella, all inclusive at the Caella Palace, travel into Barcelona on the day of the match.

Just looking at some of them deals now. what's it like there? And Lloret as well.
Saturday to thursday half board at under 220 seems suspiciously cheap to me.

We had a great time there this year, although we didn't stay at the Palace then. The transport laid on by Mac & Linda of Citizen travel is/was very reasonably priced, can recommend Bar Top as a watering hole, very friendly staff & good grub.

cheers Budge
